Enterprise Green Communities

Explore

Enterprise Green Communities Certification (EGC) is a leading national green building program dedicated specifically to affordable housing. EGC establishes rigorous sustainability standards that prioritize health, community resilience, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship.

The certification process follows a hybrid model, requiring compliance with a set of mandatory criteria while allowing project teams to select additional measures through a flexible point-based system. This structure enables customization based on each project’s unique goals. At EN-POWER GROUP, we support compliance planning, progress tracking, and document submission at every stage to ensure a seamless certification process.

Our Enterprise Green Communities Certification Services Include:

  • Certification Readiness Assessments
  • Design Compliance with Enterprise Green Communities Criteria
  • Energy Modeling
  • Documentation and Application Support
  • Construction Phase Verification and Compliance

For projects receiving funding from the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)—including New Construction, Substantial Rehabilitation, and Gut Rehabilitation projects—compliance with the current NYC Overlay of the EGC Criteria is required. We assist project teams in completing the necessary Green Communities trainings, aligning design plans with HPD guidelines, submitting Pre-Build Applications during the early design phase, and finalizing Post-Build Applications upon project completion to secure official certification.

As a professional engineering (PE) firm with deep expertise in MEP design, energy modeling, and building commissioning, EN-POWER GROUP provides comprehensive guidance to ensure your project meets all Enterprise Green Communities requirements. Our team helps you align your development with EGC’s rigorous sustainability standards, delivering measurable benefits for residents, communities, and the environment.
